Schierl Center Expansion

Our Vision

Each year, we are serving more youth than previous years. While this is an incredible achievement, we simply can't keep up with the growing demand.

The lack of dedicated space has become a significant barrier to expanding career exploration and hands-on learning.

This campaign will fund a 15,000 square-foot Teen Center and cafeteria addition at the Schierl Center, along with two additional program spaces for elementary-aged youth.

By establishing a second Teen Center at the Schierl Center in Plover, we will double the Schierl Center's daily capacity to 340 youth and serve over 500 teens annually; removing barriers to participation and strengthening services for families across Portage County.

Why This Matters

For the past six years, the Club has carefully evaluated how to expand services for teens, exploring multiple locations, facility concepts, and long-term solutions while studying enrollment trends and gathering feedback from families, schools, and community partners. One reality became clear: our current space is no longer sufficient to meet demand.

The Plover Center has seen a significant increase in demand for programming, especially during summer months, highlighting the need for an additional dedicated teen space to serve older youth.

This facility is the most cost-effective and scalable way to meet this need while creating space for teen programming, workforce readiness, and skill-building.

Expanding Opportunity for Portage County Youth

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have already raised $4 million toward our $6 million goal.

But we can’t do this alone. To turn this urgent vision into a reality for local youth and teens, we need our neighbors, businesses, and leaders to join the movement.

Thanks to a generous $1 million matching gift from John & Patty Noel, every gift made by October 30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar. This doubles the impact of every gift while expanding opportunities for youth and teens at the Schierl Center in Plover.

Thanks to Champions of Youth Week and other community support, $364,000 of the matching challenge has already been unlocked, leaving $636,000 still available to match new gifts dollar-for-dollar.

Your support ensures that no child outgrows the safety, mentorship, and support of the Club.

Every gift brings us closer to opening the doors.
