Job Center for Teens

The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is developing the Job Center for Teens to help teens identify job opportunities in the community, develop skills to get & succeed at jobs, discover helpful resources, and connect with local employers.


YouthForce staff provide on-going workforce readiness programming to teens at the Teen Center plus offer opportunities to connect teens with employers and educational institutions through presentations, field trips, job shadowing, and other unique opportunities.


The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County also hosts an annual YouthForce Job Fair & Career Showcase that strives to connect local employers seeking workers with teens interested in finding a job. Join us on May 1, 2024 from 3:00-5:00pm to find your first or next job!

UPS Road Code Certification Course

The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County's YouthForce is offering a free course for teens to earn a UPS Road Code Certification.


This FREE national program educates teens about safe driving techniques based on training UPS provides its own drivers, who are among the safest drivers worldwide.


The program focuses on different safety principles, from basic instruction to the consequences of risky behaviors such as talking on cell phones, texting or drinking while driving. The program's interactive driving simulation challenges teens' safe driving knowledge by using virtual reality headsets featuring interactive animation, voice commands and a variety of driving environments. Work Permits Now Issued Through DWD Website

As of June 30, 2023, minor employees ages 14-15 must now apply for a Work Permit through the DWD website
