20 Year Snow Sculpture

Snow Art Zone helps celebrate our 20 Year Anniversary!

Feb 16, 2022

On February 12th, 2002, John & Patty Noel and our founding board members celebrated the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County becoming officially incorporated. 2022 marks 20 years of inspiring and empowering over 14,000 youth to realize their full potential. In honor of 20 years of incorporation, Jef Schobert, from Snow Art Zone, created a snow sculpture in front of our Berard Center on Michigan Avenue in Stevens Point.

Snow Art Zone’s owner and sculptor Jef Schobert is a long-time resident of Stevens Point, as well as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is known by many locals for his snow sculptures on Clark Street in Stevens Point. Recent creations include Marvel characters such as the Hulk, Spiderman, and Venom, as well as many more exciting designs. Photos and videos of his work can be found on his Facebook Page “Snow Art Zone.”

The Boys & Girls Club started with one small Club on Ellis Street downtown Stevens Point and a school site within the Kennedy Elementary School in Junction City. Now, the Club has 10 sites throughout Portage County serving youth in 5 different communities in Stevens Point, Plover, Junction City, Rosholt, and Almond/Bancroft.

As the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County celebrates twenty years of service to the Portage County communities, they remain committed to expanding and enhancing programs for the next 20 years and beyond.

Stay tuned for more fun events in celebration of the Boys & Girls Club’s 20th anniversary.
